Fill one of the two included pods, click it in and either inhale or press the button. Then pick Eco, Normal or Power, and the Xros 5 becomes three slightly different vapes in one.
The short version
- Two pods in the box: 0.6 ohm and 0.8 ohm, both best with 50% VG.
- Normal, Power and Eco modes trade flavour against battery life.
- With a 0.4 ohm pod you can fine-tune power between 15W and 30W.
- The 1500mAh battery fully charges in about 35 minutes over 3A USB-C.
What is in the box
The Vaporesso Xros 5 vape kit includes the device, a 0.6 ohm Xros Corex pod, a 0.8 ohm Xros Corex pod, a USB-C charging cable and a user manual. Both pods hold 2ml, fill from the top and have built-in mesh coils.
The 1500mAh battery should last a full day, and 3A fast charging fills it in around 35 minutes, which is quick for a pod kit. The device weighs 73g and has a maximum output of 30W.
You can vape it two ways: just inhale, or press the single button. Both work out of the box.
Filling and fitting a pod
Pull the mouthpiece off the pod to reach the top fill port, fill it to just below the top and push the mouthpiece back on. Then wait about five minutes before your first puff so the new mesh coil soaks properly.
Click the pod into the device. You can now inhale for automatic firing, or press the button if you prefer manual control. The included pods deliver a familiar MTL inhale that feels like a cigarette.
Start with the 0.8 ohm pod if you want the tightest draw, and move to the 0.6 ohm pod for a slightly warmer, fuller vape.

Eco, Normal and Power modes
The Xros 5 has three power levels. Normal Mode gives a balanced vape, Power Mode boosts flavour, and Eco Mode saves battery life. The manual shows the button sequence for switching between them.
If you fit a 0.4 ohm Xros pod, sold separately, you can go further and fine-tune the output anywhere between 15W and 30W. That pod is designed for RDTL vaping with more vapour.
The airflow slider on the side of the device works alongside the modes. Close it for a tighter draw or open it for a looser, cooler inhale.
Which e-liquid to use
For the included pods, Vaporesso recommends a 50% VG e-liquid. That includes most nic salts and 50/50 freebase. These thinner liquids feed the 0.6 and 0.8 ohm mesh coils quickly, so you get strong flavour without dry hits.
The 0.4 ohm pods should be filled with 70% VG for RDTL vaping. A thicker, cloudier shortfill made up to a low strength suits that style.
Nicotine is addictive. Higher strengths such as 10mg or 20mg nic salt suit the MTL pods; lower strengths suit the 0.4 ohm pod, where each puff delivers much more vapour.
Which pod are you using?
Use a 50% VG liquid, such as a nic salt or 50/50 freebase.
Use a 70% VG liquid at a lower nicotine strength for RDTL vaping.
Battery tips and three common problems
- Battery not lasting: Power Mode uses the most energy. Switch to Normal or Eco on long days.
- Burnt hit: the pod was not soaked or ran low. Keep it above a third full and wait five minutes after fitting a new one.
- Accidental firing in a pocket: the button can be pressed by keys or a tight pocket. Check the manual for the lock sequence and lock it when you are not vaping.
The 35 minute charge time means a quick top-up while you make dinner usually covers the evening.
Who the Xros 5 suits
The Xros 5 suits vapers who want a simple pod kit with a little more control than an auto-draw-only device. Two pods in the box, three power modes and very fast charging make it an easy daily driver for MTL fans who occasionally want more flavour.
If you want no button at all, the lighter Xros 5 Mini is the minimal version. If you want a screen and DTL capability, look at the Xros Pro 2.
Every one of those takes the same Corex pods, so spares never go to waste when you change device.
