How to use the Vaporesso GTX One Pro: Smart Mode, wattage and tanks

3 min readUpdated 3 Oct 2026By the Spectrum Vaping team

Screw on a 510 tank, let Smart Mode read the coil, and vape. Five clicks lock it for your pocket. The GTX One Pro is a small, 40W MTL and RDTL mod with a 3000mAh battery and almost nothing to learn.

The short version

  • 5 to 40W output, built for MTL and RDTL tanks.
  • Smart Mode reads the coil and sets the power; Variable Wattage lets you choose.
  • Five clicks lock the device for travel.
  • 3000mAh battery that recharges in around 90 minutes.

What is in the box

The Vaporesso GTX One Pro box contains the GTX One Pro vape device and a user manual. No tank and no cable are listed in the contents, so have a USB-C cable ready and choose a 510 tank to pair with it.

The device carries a 3000mAh battery that can last a whole day, with a 5 to 40W output range and a 0.87 inch OLED screen. At 92g and 8.6cm tall, it is one of the most pocket-friendly mods around.

Charging is over USB-C with 2A fast charging, taking around 90 minutes for a full battery.

Choosing a tank

The standard 510 connection means you can pair the GTX One Pro with most tanks, as long as their coils support a 5 to 40W output. That rules out high-power sub ohm tanks and points you to MTL and RDTL tanks.

The Innokin Prism T18E Pro tank takes Prism coils rated 9 to 14W, ideal for a tight MTL draw. The Aspire Nautilus 3 takes Nautilus coils from 1.8 ohm at 10 to 14W up to 0.4 ohm at 23 to 28W, so one tank covers MTL and RDTL.

Screw the tank on gently; overtightening can damage the 510 pin.

Smart Mode, Variable Wattage and locking

Smart Mode detects the resistance of the coil and automatically selects the best power level. It is the easiest way to start, especially if you are new to mods.

Variable Wattage Mode lets you set the power yourself anywhere in the 5 to 40W range. Start at the bottom of your coil's printed range and work up.

When you are done, lock the device with five clicks so it is safe to travel with. The menu system is straightforward and the button layout clear, so adjustments are easy even for first-time mod users.

E-liquid for MTL and RDTL

Match the e-liquid to the coil in your tank. With MTL coils above 1.0 ohm, such as a 1.5 ohm Prism or a 1.8 ohm Nautilus, use a 50/50 or high PG liquid. Nic salts work well and feel smooth at 10mg or 20mg.

With RDTL coils like the 0.7 ohm Nautilus mesh, a higher VG liquid at a lower strength suits better; Aspire recommends 70% VG or more with that coil.

Nicotine is addictive, and a looser RDTL draw delivers more vapour per puff, so drop the strength when you move to a lower resistance coil.

Liquid by coil type

MTL coil, above 1.0 ohm

50% VG50% PG

50/50 or nic salt.

RDTL mesh coil

70% VG30% PG

Higher VG, lower strength.

Three common problems and battery tips

  • Button does nothing: the GTX has been locked. Five clicks bring it back.
  • Burnt or harsh hits: wattage above the coil's rating, or the coil was not primed. Switch to Smart Mode or lower the watts.
  • Weak vapour from a sub ohm tank: the coil needs more than 40W. Choose coils rated inside the GTX's range.

The 3000mAh battery comfortably covers a day of MTL. Charge before it is empty, keep the device out of heat, and use a USB-C cable you trust, since none is listed in the box.

What is it doing?

Who the GTX One Pro suits

The GTX One Pro suits MTL and RDTL vapers who want a tiny mod with a big battery, Smart Mode for simplicity and Variable Wattage for control. It turns a favourite MTL tank into an all-day setup.

It is not for cloud chasers: 40W caps it well below sub ohm DTL coils. For those, the Eleaf iStick T80 reaches 80W. For an all-in-one MTL kit with a tank included, the Aspire Zelos 3 comes with the Nautilus 3.

As a pocket MTL mod, the GTX is hard to fault.
