How to use the Geekvape Sonder Q2: Q pods, airflow and charging

The Geekvape Sonder Q2 box holds the device and one Sonder Q 0.8 ohm replacement pod. The pod holds 2ml of e-liquid and has a built-in mesh coil.

The device is powered by a 1350mAh battery that should last at least a full day, with a 30W maximum output. A full recharge takes under two hours. It weighs just 40g, so it is one of the lightest refillable kits on the shelf.

There is no USB-C cable in the kit, so use one you already own or add one to your order.

To start vaping, fill your pod with e-liquid, pop it into the device and inhale on the mouthpiece. The Q2 is inhale activated, so there is no button to hold.

Give a new pod five minutes after filling before your first draw. The mesh coil heats quickly and needs fully wet cotton to avoid a dry hit.

Want to change how the vape feels? Move the airflow slider on the side. Closed gives a tight MTL draw; open gives a looser, cooler RDTL draw. Small adjustments make a bigger difference than you might expect.

For the 0.8 ohm MTL pod, a nic salt at 10mg or 20mg is smooth and satisfying. For the 0.4 and 0.6 ohm pods, which make more vapour, many people drop strength. Nicotine is addictive, and the extra vapour delivers more of it per puff.

• Dry or burnt hit: the pod was not soaked, or the level dropped too low. Refill above a third and wait a few minutes.
• Gurgling: liquid in the airflow from hard draws or overfilling. Remove the pod, blow gently through it and tap it on a tissue.
• Dead device: check the RGB light; when it says charge, plug in with a USB-C cable.

The 1350mAh cell takes under two hours to fill, so charge overnight or during a long sit-down. Keep the device out of heat to protect the battery.
